We are рleased to inform you that the Samara Regional Center for Social Work and School Psychology is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year.
Formed by the order of the General Deрartment of Education of the Samara Region Administration in 1994, initially the Center conducted social and psychological research and assessment in the system of education. In 2003, the Center adopted its current name – The Regional Centre for Social Work and School Psychology. In addition to socio-psychological research and assessment it offers socio-pedagogical support to educational institutions in the region and conducts inservice training of educators, school рsychologists and social care teachers.
The Regional Centre of today is a powerful fusion of science and practice. It houses 3 scientific departments and 12 departments supporting educational psychologists and social workers in the educational institutions of the Samara region. At present the total number of the professionals working in the Centre exceeds 300 people, including 12 PhDs. Over the years, the changing role of the school psychologist has brought new challenges for the Center. It also has expanded the geography of service provision. It’s worth mentioning that in the anniversary year about 1,000 school psychologists from 8 regions of the country, ranging from Karelia in the West to Siberia and Yakutiya in the East, have been trained within the frame of the state grant of the RF Ministry of Education. The trainings were aimed at the optimization of the work of the centers for psychological, educational, medical, and social support to children all over the country.
During the years of its existence, the center is being led by a person who was standing at its origin, Kliueva Tatiana, PhD, a talented manager, scientist, high professional, whose knowledge, experience and personal qualities are deeply respected by the colleagues and staff. It was she who initiated close contacts of the Centre with the professional community of the Russian Federation, Europe and the world. The partners of the Center are: the Federation of Educational Psychologists of Russia, the International School Psychologists Association, the European Training Centre, as well as school psychologists and experts from Germany, The Netherlands, and Israel. We are proud of our friendship with our partners who contribute greatly to the strengthening of school psychologists’ position and psychology as a science in general.
Our colleagues from the Samara Regional Center for Social Work and School Psychology would like to welcome you to celebrate their 20th anniversary. Their celebration will be held on Wednesday, 12 November 2014 at 10:00 AM at the Centre for the Youth Socialization (131, Kuibyshev Street, Samara, Russia).
