ISPA Training Center


The ISPA Training Center was the result of courses on Crisis Management in Schools held for European school psychologists since 2003 by the European Committee of ISPA, sponsored by the SOCRATES/COMENIUS programme of the European Union.  In ten basic and two advanced courses 240 colleagues from 16 European countries were trained for supporting schools in crises like school shootings, natural disasters affecting schools, accidents, suicides, deaths, bullying and in prevention of violence in schools.

In 2008 the executive Committee of ISPA decided to establish a special organizing body within ISPA for offering courses for school psychologists in Europe for crisis management courses but for other courses, too. A director and co-director of the ISPA Training Center were appointed:

The ISPA Training Center has a staff of trainers for the European courses and since recently trainers for national courses in Austria, France, Germany (several states), Hungary, The Netherlands, and United Kingdom. They belong to the CMiS European Network and offer courses in their home countries and states based on a basic manual on which they aggreed after years of experience in the field of crisis management in schools.
