ISPA AWARD 1999
ROGER CHAUVETTE
Dr. Chauvette is a respected school psychology practitioner,
leader, and children’s advocate within his workplace and the professional associations
to which he belongs. He exemplifies deep dedication to the profession of school
psychology and enduring personal qualities.
Dr. Roger Chauvette contributed significantly to
ISPA while serving as a co-convener of the memorable ISPA colloquium in Newport,
Rhode Island, USA, a role he shared with his wife Fredda Chauvette. Dr. Chauvette
also has provided important leadership and service to ISPA through his role
as co-chair of the Calvin D. Catterall Financial Aid Fund, a heritage founded
in memory of one of ISPA’s founders, Dr. Calvin Catterall. In this role he has
helped colleagues from around the world attend the ISPA colloquia. As a result
of his excellent stewardship, the Fund’s resources have increased and with this
the amount of work associated with the Fund.
Dr. Chauvette’s timely and dedicated work have been consistent with the
Fund’s mission.
The International School Psychology Association is
fortunate to have him as an active member and leader, one who continues to contribute
to the Association in important ways. The ISPA Distinguished Service Award is
given to Roger Chauvette as a symbol of the Association’s appreciation for his
continuing and distinguished service and commitment in promoting the values
and aims of our Association.
