Betts Rivet is nominated
for many reasons because she has been in some capacity or other actively involved
and deeply dedicated to ISPA since its inception.
She was treasurer of the
Association from 1985 to 1991.
She drafted the Operations
Handbook.
She negotiated the special
tax status we have in the USA.
She has over a number of
years been responsible for the allocation of the Cal Catterall Funds, and established
the "International Crafts Table" at our colloquia, whose proceeds
are contributed to the Catterall Fund.
She has collected and catalogued
Catterall's archives and has involved herself actively in trying to find a permanent
home for the ISPA archives.
She initiated the 25th
anniversary celebrations held this year in Jurmala and organized the special
ceremony and the exhibition of archival material.
This
award is a small token of our deep appreciation and thanks to Betts for all
she has done for ISPA since its inception.
