THE ISPA AWARD 2001

CHANTAL PETIT

Chantal Petit is presented the ISPA Award for 2001 in recognition of her distinguished services to ISPA.

Chantal has made an important contribution to several aspects of ISPA work. She was a very fortunate choice for the position of Colloquium Coordinator in 1991, and has served exceptionally in this function for six years; she gave invaluable guidance and encouragement to the conveners of the six ISPA colloquia for which she was responsible: in Turkey, Slovakia, Brazil, Scotland, Hungary and Australia. She is an attentive listener, she displays enthusiasm, positive thinking, and great dedication to the work, all qualities that have made her a good friend to many people. Her warm personality and her special artistic gifts extended into articles about prospective colloquium sites published over the years in World Go Round. If the situation calls for it, we have found that Chantal is an honest and stubborn fighter, but her wisdom and sensitivity have always papered over differences with tact and elegance.

ISPA is fortunate to have Chantal as an active member. This award is a small token of our deep thanks for all Chantal has done for and within ISPA over the last 15 years as an advocate of our goals for humanity and for children.
