ISPA AWARD 1999
FREDDA CHAUVETTE
Fredda Chauvette was a co-convener
of the memorable ISPA colloquium of 1990 in Newport, Rhode Island, USA, sharing
the leadership responsibilities with her husband, Dr. Roger Chauvette.
Fredda Chauvette also has provided
important leadership and service to ISPA through her role as co-chair of the
Calvin D. Catterall Financial Aid Fund, a heritage founded in memory of one
of ISPA's founders, Dr. Calvin D. Catterall. In this role she has helped colleagues
from around the world attend the ISPA colloquia.
As a result of her excellent
stewardship, the Fund's resources have increased, and with it the amount of
work associated with the Fund. Fredda's timely and dedicated work have been
consistent with the Fund's mission.
Fredda is an admirable person,
one who displays enthusiasm, positive thinking, and dedication for work. Fredda
is a good listener and a friend to many. The Chauvette's house has always been
open to colleagues and many have enjoyed their hospitality. Professionally,
she remains an advocate for children within her work and the professional associations
to which she belongs.
The International School Psychology
Association is fortunate to have Fredda as an active member who continues to
contribute to the betterment of our Association. The ISPA Distinguished Service
Award is given to Fredda as a symbol of the Association's appreciation for her
continuing and distinguished service and commitment in promoting the values
and aims of our Association.
